Mazuri Social Media Management

Time Period: 2012 to Present

  • crisis management
  • social media management
  • content development

MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition is a world leader in quality nutrition for virtually every living exotic animal. They design, test and produce more animal diets than any other company in the world. Like many other brands and companies, MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition decided to take advantage of social media through Facebook to reach out to their current product users and attract new customers. VAN LEUVEN Communications worked with the internal marketing team at MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition to produce regular content for the MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition Facebook page including a mix of photos, facts and status updates. VLC created and executed a vision for the MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition brand to leverage Facebook by positively engage customers, rather than simply providing a customer complaint section.

VLC also helped MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition make the switch to the new Timeline format on Facebook, by coordinating with designers to transition the style of the page seamlessly.

MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition benefited greatly from the Facebook page as an added element of communication during a voluntary product recall due to elevated levels of Vitamin D in several of their products during the summer of 2012. During this intense time, VLC managed the MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition Facebook page for questions, concerns and comments nearly 24 hours a day.  VLC was able to help the customer and protect the brand’s equity during the recall by monitoring and responding to customers questions on the Facebook page.

VLC also coordinates and creates content for the MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutritionnewsletter. The newsletter is sent out to subscribers quarterly. VLC strives to balance science-based content with personal stories to keep the MAZURI® Exotic Animal Nutrition newsletter both educational and personal.
