The Missouri Humanities Council acts as a catalyst for cultural organizations, helping them to connect with people and communities across Missouri in dynamic ways that spark the deep excitement for story and learning. Their work includes consultative training, mentoring, grants for Missouri organizations, exhibit tours, literature, reading programs and other resources. Working with the Council, VAN LEUVEN Communications supports their programs and objectives through media relations statewide and locally in urban and rural communities. VLC promotes the Read First! and READ from the START programs, offering media training to community volunteers and gaining coverage in local and surrounding community papers and radio stations. VLC has created multiple bylined articles published in statewide publications for the Museum on Main Street traveling Smithsonian exhibit program, offered media relations support to local communities hosting the exhibit and developed collateral to recruit communities to host future exhibits. VLC also develops content for the Council’s website and e-newsletter and maintains their online presence through updating their website and social media pages.
