Benchmark Healthcare Management, LLC is credited for becoming one of the first senior living communities in the Midwest more than 72 years ago when founder Clara Sells opened her home to care for seniors in her own community. As a growing company, Benchmark Healthcare acquired five new facilities in western Missouri in July 2010. VAN LEUVEN Communications handled all media relations for the merger, securing media coverage in the Kansas City Business Journal, St. Louis Business Journal and Cincinnati Business Journal. Following the merger and acquisition, VLC continued to secure coverage of human-interest stories in each of the newly acquired communities as well as in a number of other communities that Benchmark Healthcare has facilities.

VLC was also excited to support the Lees Summit, Mo. facility during the 100th birthday celebration for two of their longtime residents. The residents and their families were honored to receive local print and television coverage of their lives and longevity.
